Sweet 16 Party Decor for Exploring Cricut

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful week. Very busy around here. Started the week with celebrating Sara's 16th birthday, trying to finish up school and Sara's drama performances are all weekend! I will be glad when it's all completed! So fun and yet a bit tiring too.

Today is my day to post a project at Exploring Cricut. I just love this blog as it is devoted to all things Cricut. I love to see the images the design team used in their projects. I often find inspiration to try a new image or maybe pull out a cartridge I haven't used in awhile. Please do take a moment to visit!

For today's project I am sharing some party decor from Sara's birthday celebration. I used my Imagine Yummy Cartridge for these goodies.

I will start with the favors as they are my favorite! I started  by printing several images from the Yummy cartridge using the layer feature. I inked the edges, added foam tape, stickles and/or little pearls. Finally I ran the images through various Cuttlebug folders.  I inked the edges of the paper doilies added the image on top with more foam tape, added some wrapped candy bars, finished with some pink sheer ribbon. They looked so darling.

Next up: decorated paper straws. I used a stock image from the Imagine using a patterned paper from the Yummy cartridge, inked the edges and ran them through the cupcake Cuttlebug folder. I added a scalloped circle and stamped the "16" from an Amy Tangerine stamp set. I added the little cupcakes I made from the Yummy cartridge cut at 1" using the layer and auto fill feature.

I made some cake pops too and needed to jazz up the stryrofoam block I put them in. I added tule to cover the styrofoam and using another image from the same cartridge I made a little sign to go in front. I added the word sixteen from a  Jolies's sticker set. I attached it with a stick pin. The "party" was cut using the layer and fit to page feature.

I used a few more images for decor, the "happy", "birthday", and "sweet" were cut
using the layer and fit to page features.

Finally the banner. Now I must tell you, this was so adorable but for the life of me I cannot photograph banners. No matter what I try, it just never turns out. It didn't help that our lighting in the kitchen is crummy, but I will share anyway.
The banner was cut using images from the Yummy cartridge cut at 4". I used the auto fill feature and was able to get 4 to 6 per page. I also added some images cut at 3" using the layer feature. I added foam tape, stickles and inked the edges as well. I ran them through the polka dot Cuttlebug folder.

Here are a couple of photos with it all put together. All in all, very cute and fun to make. It was a wonderful celebration. Another milestone birthday. I am so blessed.

Thank you for stopping by. Don't forget we have another challenge coming up on Monday at Exploring Cricut. So be sure to join us.

We rented a photo booth for my daughters sweet sixteen. It was from a photo booth rental philadelphia company. It was a huge hit. Everyone seemed to love it. I’m really glad we decided to get it. Thanks for the post.
