"Down on the Farm" Layout for Exploring Cricut Challenge!

Hello all and hope your Monday is going well so far!
Did you do anything special this weekend? I was able to do some cleaning, sorting and putting away of craft projects so that I could start some new ones!

This week's challenge over at Exploring Cricut is to create a card, layout or project using a Farm Animal and of course your Cricut machines.....

I picked up Nate's ABCs sometime ago and haven't used it much. As I was looking through the adorable images I just fell in love with the barn, phrase and little goat....(truth be told,, my oldest son Adam, now 25, used to show dairy goats in our local 4H, so this image brought back a ton of memories of County Fair)

Ok....enough reminiscing....I just can't help it sometimes.

I started with a couple of sheets of 12x12 paper from DCWV  The Crafty Stack. Very country feel, not just craft related.
I chose the barn image on page 64 of Nate's ABCs, cut it at 7.0" using all layers. I probably would have cut it a bit bigger if I had it to do over again. I used my Cuttle bug for the barn.

Next came the phrase feature and I cut that at 3.5". That cut also included a layer, which I ran through the Cuttlebug and both cut beautifully.

Finally the last cut was the sweet little goat on page 63. It is cut at 4.0" with all of the layers. I would also recommend cutting him a bit bigger. I started with 5.0" but the proportion was too large for the barn image I had already cut.... Lots of little layers to this image, but so worth it. It is always so relaxing putting the layers together and watching the project come to life! Don't ya think??
The edges were inked using some Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

All paper for the Cricut images are from my scraps... I have vowed to check there first for my projects....

I cut some simple  mats using scraps and "The Crafty Stack"

I stamped a sun and flowers using My Creative Time's Fun Pockets stamp set, and added  little bling to the flower centers.

Finally I added a journaling card using My Creative Time's Journal It! and 3x4 Stitched Journal Die. I finished the journaling card with a couple of twine bows.

I hope you will take a few moments to visit each Design Team Member's blog to see the wonderful projects they have all created.
I really do thank you for stopping by...
Please enter this week's challenge too!

And Kim....I still haven't heard from you for your address to claim your prize...

I think this is so cute and precious-the whole point about a layout is to reminisce, right?

Great LO Donna! I just got this cart and I believe I got a ton of "petting zoo" visits that will look awesome on a LO like this, I will have to scraplift it if you do not mind that is :)
Have a wonderful day and thanks for your always kind comments :)
